About Colònia Güell
Discover everything waiting for you at Colònia Güell, one of Catalonia's most distinctive historical and architectural sites, where industrial heritage, Modernism and the work of Antoni Gaudí come together in a fascinating setting.
Located in Santa Coloma de Cervelló (Barcelona), Colònia Güell was established at the end of the 19th century by businessman Eusebi Güell, who moved part of his industrial activity to the area. A complete workers' settlement gradually developed around the factory, including homes and buildings for the community's everyday life.
One of its main highlights is the Crypt of Colònia Güell, designed by Antoni Gaudí and included on UNESCO's World Heritage List as part of the architect's works. Here, Gaudí experimented with innovative architectural forms and structural solutions that would influence his later projects.
During your visit, you can explore the streets of the former industrial colony and discover Modernist buildings, workers' houses, historical spaces and architectural details that provide an insight into everyday life in this unique community.
Combining architecture, history, culture and heritage, Colònia Güell is an ideal destination for Gaudí enthusiasts as well as anyone looking to discover a different side of Barcelona's surroundings.
Plan your visit and step into the history of Colònia Güell, where Catalonia's industrial past meets the extraordinary architectural legacy of Antoni Gaudí.
